Text messaging basics
We’re transitioning to a new texting vendor, and this message is to help prepare you for this change. Following this, you should receive a text from our two new numbers.
We sent the text message to inform you of the new phone numbers and confirm they are from Optum Care WA. You don't need to take any action. Appointment-related messages will come from 37404, and Billing messages will come from 38036.
We'll send texts for appointment reminders, offers for earlier appointments, and billing information. They may be one-time or recurring. You can find a full list of the message types within your communication preferences in MyChart.
Yes, you can choose the type of text messages you want. Visit your communication preferences in MyChart to customize.
This depends on how many appointments you have and your personal communication preferences.
Standard message and data rates apply through your mobile carrier.
Yes. Your information is protected under HIPAA regulations, and we use secure systems to ensure its safety.
In addition to appointment-related text messages, you may receive billing-related text messages offering payment options.
If you’re on the wait list for an earlier appointment, you'll receive these offers via text message. There’s no need to log in to MyChart. Just reply to the text to confirm or decline.
If you complete E-Check In online, you'll receive a text message near your appointment time. Upon arrival, reply ‘HERE’ to the text, skip the front desk line, and wait to be called. Please note: In some cases, you may still be required to go to the front desk.
Text ‘START’ to 37404 to sign up for appointment and care-related messages.
Text ‘START’ to 38036 to sign up for account and billing messages.
Log in to your MyChart account, go to the menu look for account settings section, and select communication preferences. Then select opt in and toggle text messages on. If you'd like to customize your text preferences, review your additional settings and turn them on or off, then save changes to apply.
To stop receiving texts for a specific text number, reply 'STOP' to each text. If you no longer want any text messages, you must reply 'STOP' to each program you want to end.
Yes. When you reply 'STOP' to one text number, you'll still get text messages from your other text numbers.
Text messaging may not be available from all wireless providers. You may not get a message if your wireless network is down, or you're not within service range. We aren't responsible for losses or damages because a text is not delivered, or it’s delayed.
Verify that you texted 'STOP' to the appropriate text number:
If you no longer want appointment reminders, text 'STOP' to 37404
If you only want to opt-out of billing texts, you must text 'STOP' to 38036
If you wish to opt out of both, text 'STOP' to each text number.
You can text ‘START’ to 37404 for appointment-related items and ‘START’ to 38036 for billing needs. You can also activate text messages through the communication preferences menu in MyChart by selecting opt-in for both appointments and billing.
No, you don't need MyChart to sign up via text. An Optum front desk team member can also help you sign up for text messaging at your next appointment.
Please update us right away if your mobile number changes. It's your responsibility to give a correct mobile number and to update any changes. If you don’t give us your new mobile number, we aren't responsible for any text message sent to the wrong number.
