What is an e-visit? Advice without a trip to the doctor’s office

Have an anytime e-visit by answering a few questions. You can also share any pictures you think would be helpful. This is done through secure messaging and you don’t need to see a doctor.

You’ll get a reply the same day or next. The doctor will answer your questions and provide a care plan. Or they may send you follow-up questions.

What’s the cost of an e-visit

Medicare and most private insurance providers cover this visit at little-to-no-cost to patients after standard copays and deductibles are met.

If you have any questions about your coverage, please contact your health care insurance provider. If your insurance does not cover this service, or if you do not have heath care insurance, you will be responsible for the entire $39 fee. If you do not complete the e-visit, or are redirected to a clinic or video visit, you will not be charged.

How e-visits work

E-visits use MyChart. If you haven’t already, sign up for a MyChart account.

Follow these simple steps:

Step 1
Sign into your MyChart account with your computer, smartphone, or tablet

Step 2
Select “E-Visit” from the Menu or from the Message Center

Step 3
Fill out the questions about your health problem

Step 4
Enter payment information, confirm the details of your e-visits, and click submit

Step 5
A doctor will go over your questions and provide a care plan or message you through MyChart. This will happen in 24 hours or less.

E-visits can care for:

Cough, colds or the flu
Paxlovid prescription (for COVID-19)
UTI (female ages 18-65 yrs.)
Birth control (female only)
Sinus problems
Diarrhea
Rash
Pink eye
Vaginal discharge or irritation
Seasonal allergies
Anxiety and depression (use the Anxiety and Depression Symptom Checker within MyChart)
